Mike is probably one of Canada's best-known
illustrators, and currently Quebec's most publicly recognized
portraitist. This is due to his frequent assignments as a
courtroom illustrator across the continent, both in Canada and
in the US.
Mike's current assignment has brought him wide acclaim
throughout the province of Quebec and beyond: he is the only
courtroom illustrator featuring for the public media, in its
extensive coverage of Quebec's Hell's Angels biker gang leader
trial, held in a Montreal court. On a daily basis, Mike produces
highly accurate and realistic courtroom illustrations of the
judges, lawyers and of the major defendant himself. His
hand-drawn images reflect the court's atmosphere so authentically, that these artworks are displayed
on the
front pages of all daily journals printed in Quebec, such as the
Montreal Gazette and the Journal de Montreal, as well as in
daily TV coverages by Canadian national TV stations such as the
CBC, and several Montreal local news casts.
As a result of his outstanding artworks, Mike has recently
received several coverage stories focusing on his artistic works
and ideas, by the national CBC television, Montreal region's
CFCF12 TV station, and a front-page cover story in the Montreal
Gazette, a newspaper with a daily circulation of 600,000.
Aside from being a freelance artist, Mike
also teaches courses of illustration and painting.
